It has been a rough couple of weeks for the country music world when it comes to health news as several stars have had to call off or postpone shows due to health issues.<\/p>\n
A handful of the health announcement came heading into the weekend.<\/p>\n
Country music legend Hank Williams Jr. announced that he was postponing a pair of shows in Oklahoma. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re so sorry to share that due to illness, Hank Williams Jr. will be unable to perform the shows scheduled for Tulsa and Thackerville, OK,\u201d a statement on his Instagram account read. <\/b><\/a>\u201cThese dates will be rescheduled for later next month, and all tickets will be honored for the new dates.\u201d<\/p>\n Williams Jr. announced that Friday\u2019s show in Tulsa will be rescheduled for Sept. 19, and Saturday\u2019s show in Thackerville will be rescheduled for Sept. 20.<\/p>\n \u201cWe regret any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your understanding and support,\u201d the statement added. \u201cWe can\u2019t wait to be back on stage with you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n He wasn\u2019t the only legendary performer to fall ill across the past week. <\/p>\n Country music icon Connie Smith was slated to celebrate the 60th anniversary of her Grand Ole Opry induction, but that changed when she and her husband, fellow country star Marty Stuart, fell ill. <\/p>\n A statement shared to Smith\u2019s Instagram broke the news to fans.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, the special evening at the Grand Ole Opry planned for tomorrow night celebrating Connie Smith\u2019s 60 years as an Opry member must be postponed,\u201d the statement read. \u201cWe look forward to rescheduling this soon and to listening to the wonderful lineup of folks performing tomorrow night!\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, some younger country stars have also had to take a step back.<\/p>\n Ashley McBryde has had to take time off to rest her voice on doctor\u2019s orders. <\/p>\n The 42-year-old recently announced that on Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cMy voice has been struggling over the past few weeks, and as much as it pains me, I won\u2019t be able to play my shows this week,\u201d she wrote. \u201cMy doctors have made it crystal clear: my voice needs complete rest to heal.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s nothing I want more than to be back giving you 100%,\u201d she added. \u201cThank you for understanding. I\u2019ll see you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n Although she cannot talk, she is still sharing the experience with fans.<\/p>\n \u201cNot being able to use my voice is a scary feeling,\u201d she wrote alongside a video of playing with her cat. \u201cThat\u2019s the not so fun reality of your voice being how you make a living. But August Moon is keeping me company while I let it heal. Thank you for being so understanding, my hope is that these pipes will be back to what they should be soon.\u201d<\/p>\n And finally, 26-year-old star Ella Langley stepped away from her tour. <\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s nothing I want more than to be back giving you 100%,\u201d she added. \u201cThank you for understanding.
