The rapper candidly spoke at length about his concerns regarding the subject during a recent podcast appearance, sparking debate on social media.<\/p>\n In a recent appearance on the It\u2019s Giving\u00a0podcast<\/a>, Snoop Dogg shared his concerns about LGBTQ+ representation in movies geared towards a younger audience. \u201cWhat you see is what you see, and they\u2019re putting it everywhere,\u201d the rapper said.<\/p>\n Snoop Dogg further went on to reveal that he took his grandson to watch Angus MacLane\u2019s Lightyear and was shocked to see the main character\u2019s parents being queer. He was likely referring to Alisha and her wife, Kiko, who has a son, Avery Hawthorne.<\/p>\n Explaining what concerned him, he said, \u201cThey just said, she and she had a baby \u2014 they\u2019re both women. How does she have a baby? [the experience] f\u2014\u2013 me up. I\u2019m like, scared to go to the movies. Y\u2019all throwing me in the middle of s\u2014 that I don\u2019t have an answer for.\u201d He further added, \u201cIt threw me for a loop. I\u2019m like, \u2018What part of the movie was this?\u201d<\/p>\n Snoop Dogg further explained his concerns regarding LGBTQ+ representation in children\u2019s movies, saying, \u201cThese are kids. We have to show that at this age? They\u2019re going to ask questions. I don\u2019t have the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n Lightyear faced a ban in several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, and many more because of a scene showing a same-sex couple kissing. Producer Galyn Susman told AFP that they knew that the ban could happen.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cWe were warned that this would be a likely outcome.
