Sol Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> recently opened up about stepping into the DC Universe with Peacemaker<\/strong> Season 2, where she takes on the role of Sasha Bordeaux<\/strong>. In a new interview, she explained how she approached the character, blending her comic book roots with James Gunn\u2019s vision for the series.<\/p>\n Speaking to DiscussingFilm<\/a> about her character, Sasha Bordeaux, Rodr\u00edguez said, \u201cI tried to maintain her essence from the comics\u2026 with my personality on top of what James Gunn wrote which is different than her story with Batman.\u201d<\/p>\n She explained that Sasha had never been adapted on screen before, so she researched the character online and then combined that with the scripts and direction from Gunn. \u201cI was like, \u2018Okay, I\u2019m going to make it mine. I have the opportunity to make it my own,\u2019\u201d Rodr\u00edguez said in the interview.<\/p>\n Rodr\u00edguez confirmed that she kept Sasha\u2019s comic history in mind while shaping her version of the A.R.G.U.S. agent. \u201cIn my work for the character, I do have it in my backstory \u2026 I had it in the back of my mind,\u201d she told ComicBook<\/a>. However, she clarified that she aimed to create a new interpretation for the DC Universe\u2019s television continuity. \u201cI didn\u2019t bring it with me. Because I wanted to do a different version honoring the character but also doing what James was asking me to do, and honoring this Sasha in Peacemaker\u2019s world,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n In the comics, the Sasha Bordeaux character debuts in Detective Comics #751 (2000), where Wayne Enterprises assigns her to protect Bruce Wayne. She soon uncovers his double life as Batman and becomes both his ally and romantic partner.<\/p>\n Later, she joins the covert agency Checkmate, where she rises to the position of Black Queen. Rodr\u00edguez acknowledged this history, noting, \u201cIt hasn\u2019t been talked about with James if that\u2019s ever going to happen. I\u2019m crossing [my] fingers. If he ever wants to make that happen, I\u2019m here for it.\u201d<\/p>\n Peacemaker Season 2 introduces Sasha as part of Rick Flag Sr.\u2019s A.R.G.U.S. team. The series adds Sol Rodr\u00edguez, Frank Grillo, and David Denman.
