The world\u2019s preeminent virtual rock band Gorillaz<\/a> will finally make their Fortnite<\/a><\/em> debut as the Season 10 headliners for \u201cFortnite <\/em>Festival,\u201d which premieres tomorrow, Aug. 26.<\/p>\n The animated group\u2019s four members \u2014 Noodle, 2D, Russel Hobbs, and Murdoc Niccals \u2014 will all be available as playable characters in Fortnite<\/em> and come with matching accessories. Some of the band\u2019s biggest hits will be available to purchase as in-game Jam Tracks, too, including \u201cDare,\u201d \u201cClint Eastwood,\u201d and \u201cOn Melancholy Hill.\u201d (\u201cDare\u201d will also have its own separate choreographed dance move emote.)<\/p>\n More from Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/p>\n Completing the tie-in is a revamped \u201cMain Stage\u201d area for Fortnite <\/em>Festival that\u2019s fully Gorillaz themed to make the headliners feel right at home. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor for all of you that I am finally to be immortalized in my own fiefdom,\u201d Murdoc quipped in a statement. \u201cWatch out serfs, here I come.\u201d<\/p>\n Fortnite <\/em>Festival has featured an array of massive stars in recent years, with the likes of the Weeknd, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, Karol G, and Sabrina Carpenter<\/a> all participating. Most recently, the Season Nine headliner was Bruno Mars<\/a>, who joined the game as a playable character earlier this summer.<\/p>\n For Gorillaz, the Fortnite<\/em> tie-in comes at a time of relative quiet for the band, who haven\u2019t released a new album since 2023\u2019s Cracker Island<\/a><\/em>. But the group \u2014 which was founded by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett \u2014 is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year with a special exhibit in London<\/a>, which opened earlier this month and runs through Sept. 3.<\/p>\n To further mark the occasion, Gorillaz will also play four special shows at the Copper Box Arena in London, Aug. 29, Aug. 30, Sept. 2, and Sept. 3. These will be the band\u2019s first gigs since Coachella 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Albarn did confirm that new Gorillaz music was imminent. \u201cI\u2019m finishing a new Gorillaz album,\u201d he told\u00a0 Les Inrockuptibles<\/a><\/em>. \u201cOne opera and one new Gorillaz album seems like enough for 2025!
