Fans of Colin Farrell\u2019s The Penguin may be excited to see the star return for Matt Reeves\u2019 The Batman: Part II<\/strong><\/a>, but a new update might leave some disappointed.<\/p>\n Speaking to TheWrap in a recent interview, Farrell was asked about his potential role in the upcoming sequel film. While he did note that he will be in the movie, Farrell revealed that his role might not be very large.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll be getting into the script, I think, this week, and I\u2019ll be there for however long,\u201d said Farrell of the film\u2019s script. \u201cI don\u2019t have many scenes, I don\u2019t believe, but I\u2019ll be there for whatever. Matt Reeves is so brilliant. I don\u2019t know what the story is yet. I just know that obviously Matt has slaved for a few years now to really make something special. And he holds a very high bar for himself. He\u2019s so meticulous; he cares so deeply about what he does.\u201d<\/p>\n Farrell\u2019s revelation is not too shocking, as the star has previously said he was unsure of his role in the future of The Batman franchise. While Farrell has said that he\u2019s signed on to play the role of Oz Cobb in three films, just what his status in those films will be remain a mystery, as does much of The Batman: Part II.<\/p>\n According to\u00a0a recent report<\/a>, The Batman 2 \u2014 also known as\u00a0The Batman Part II<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0The Batman Part 2<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 will begin production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in London, United Kingdom, on January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman in the movie, while the website lists the returning cast as Farrell,\u00a0Andy Serkis<\/a>\u00a0as Alfred, and\u00a0Jeffrey Wright<\/a>\u00a0as Commissioner Gordon. It also says\u00a0Barry Keoghan<\/a>\u00a0is \u201cexpected\u201d to return as the Joker, though this has not been confirmed by\u00a0Warner Bros.
