The post Snoop Dogg \u201cScared to Go to Movies\u201d Due to LGBTQ+ Representation in Kids Films<\/a> appeared first on Consequence<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rapper Snoop Dogg<\/a> has spoken out against LGBTQ+ representation in children\u2019s films, stating, \u201cthey\u2019re putting it everywhere,\u201d and that it brings up questions he\u2019s not prepared to answer.<\/p>\n Snoop was a guest on the It\u2019s Giving<\/i><\/a> podcast when he opened up about taking his grandson to a screening of the 2022 Pixar movie, Lightyear<\/em><\/a>, and being shocked to see one of the main characters being raised by a lesbian couple. When his grandson asked how two women could have a baby, the rapper was at a loss for words.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t come in for this shit. I just came to watch the goddamn movie,\u201d Snoop recalled, adding that the moment \u201cfucked me up. I\u2019m like, scared to go to the movies. Y\u2019all throwing me in the middle of shit that I don\u2019t have an answer for\u2026 It threw me for a loop.\u201d<\/p>\n The rapper went on to double down on his feelings, emphasizing that LGBTQ+ themes have no place in movies for kids: \u201cWe have to show that at this age? They\u2019re going to ask questions. I don\u2019t have the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n The movie Lightyear<\/em> is famous for featuring the first same-sex kiss in a Disney\/Pixar film, which sparked internal controversy at the studio that almost led to the scene being cut from the movie.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s tough to not be a little frustrated that it even has to be a topic of discussion, Lightyear<\/em> star Chris Evans said<\/a> at the time about the controversy. \u201cThe goal is that we can get to a point where it is the norm, and that this doesn\u2019t have to be some uncharted waters, that eventually this is just the way it is\u201d<\/p>\n Curiously, Snoop\u2019s comments appear to have been edited out of the original video interview uploaded to YouTube.
