Anthony Michael Hall<\/strong> opened up about an embarrassing moment while filming National Lampoon\u2019s Vacation<\/em><\/a> with Chevy Chase<\/strong>, and it didn\u2019t didn\u2019t exactly flatter the Community<\/em> alum.<\/p>\n Hall, 57, filmed the popular \u201980s comedy at just 14 years old, and when he was asked to return to reshoot a few scenes for the end of the movie a year and a half later, his looks had changed and he had grown in height.<\/p>\n \u201cPuberty kicked in for me. I was a foot taller and like a different kid,\u201d Hall told the crowd at Fan Expo Chicago on August 17 in a TikTok video<\/a> shared on August 22. \u201cGuess who pointed the s**t out right away and made me feel really good about it on set.\u201d<\/p>\n Chase, 81, who was sitting beside Hall on the panel, didn\u2019t remember the moment, but he looked visibly uncomfortable with it being brought back up in front of the crowd.<\/p>\n Hall\u2019s moment is just the latest in a long line of horror stories from people who claim to have had negative experiences working with the Saturday Night Live<\/em> legend. Last year, Home Alone<\/em> director Christopher Columbus<\/strong> revealed that he was originally set to direct National Lampoon\u2019s Christmas Vacation<\/em>, but that all changed after meeting Chase for the first time.<\/p>\n \u201cI was signed on\u2026 and then I met Chevy Chase. Even given my situation at the time, where I desperately needed to make a film, I realized I couldn\u2019t work with the guy,\u201d Columbus, 66, told Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a> on December 23, 2024. \u201cI called John<\/strong> [Hughes<\/strong>] and said, \u2018I can\u2019t do this. John, I need this job desperately, but I know I will not make a good movie with this guy and I will let you down.\u2019 And he said, \u2018I understand.
