Dodie<\/a> has shared a new music video for her latest single \u2018I Feel Bad For You, Dave\u2019, which features a cameo from Jeff Goldblum<\/a>. Check it out below.<\/p>\n The new track sees the singer lean into bossa nova influences, and call out the toxic aspects of social media. It is taken from her forthcoming second album, \u2018Not For Lack of Trying\u2019 \u2013 which follows her 2021 debut \u2018Build A Problem\u2019.<\/p>\n As Dodie says herself, the song is a tongue-in-cheek track that takes a look at the narcissism displayed by some people. \u201c[It\u2019s] a song about the ego of people who feel as though they lack power, so try to gain it in ways that ironically have the opposite effect. We all know a Dave,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n It also partly comes as a response to keyboard warriors and online trolls who targeted her friend with racist abuse. \u201cI did not know what to do \u2013 I wanted to just drag them down, I wanted to reply to them and make videos about them,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018OK, I can\u2019t do any of that, so I\u2019ll write a song.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Check it out below, along with a new retro-style music video that opens with a cameo from Jeff Goldblum.<\/p>\n
