Sam Asghari<\/strong> is making it clear he views his marriage to Britney Spears<\/strong> differently than she does.<\/p>\n On Monday, August 25, Asghari, 31, responded to his ex-wife\u2019s recent comments<\/a> by giving a statement to People<\/a><\/em> through his rep, telling the outlet, \u201cOur marriage was very real to me.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt may have been short, but we were together for seven years,\u201d the Traitors<\/em> alum continued. \u201cI was in love with her, will always have love for her, and wish her the best always.\u201d<\/p>\n As Star<\/em> previously reported<\/a>, the 43-year-old pop icon reflected on their relationship in an Instagram post<\/a> shared on Sunday, August 24.<\/p>\n In the caption, the \u201cToxic\u201d hitmaker said their union was a way to cope with losing contact with her sons Sean Preston<\/strong>, 19, and Jayden James<\/strong>, 18, who she shares with ex-husband<\/a> Kevin Federline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re just people so fragile and human the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years,\u201d Spears wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cI was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears its weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\n The mother of two met Asghari in 2016 after he was cast in her \u201cSlumber Party\u201d music video.
