The track and adjoining music video bolster Shires\u2019 current independent outlook, one tied to personal liberation after feeling dismissed for an extended period of time. \u201cPiece of Mind\u201d underscores her will and earned attitude, which persists as a musical reminder that she needs no man.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shires wrote the new track with production assistance from Lawrence Rothman. Clocking in at under four minutes, it electrifies an emotionally charged atmosphere tied to the artist\u2019s own experiences of emotional turmoil that fed her feelings of dismissal and inspired the rock-heavy anthem. Nobody\u2019s Girl was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, with Fred Eltringham, Julian Dorio (drums), Dominic Davis (bass), Peter Levin (keys), Zach Setchfield, and Rothman (guitar).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Music City, she also worked on the set at Rothman Recorders in Los Angeles, with Jay Bellerose (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Jimbo Hart (bass), Joe Kennedy (piano, guitar), and Rothman (guitar).
