Though The Bear<\/em><\/a>\u2019s two lead actors have undeniable on-screen chemistry, fans shouldn\u2019t hold their breath for a romantic storyline.<\/p>\n In a recent interview with Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a>, Ayo Edeberi \u2014 who plays sous chef Sydney<\/a> on the restaurant-centric drama \u2014 said that fans have been rooting for Sydney to date Carmy<\/a> \u2014 the restaurant\u2019s head chef played by Jeremy Allen White. However, the Bottoms <\/em>actress said the two will never be romantically involved \u2014 a stance she\u2019s held since the show\u2019s beginning.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like we\u2019ve been saying since [Season] 1, but I don\u2019t know if people are starting to believe us now,\u201d Edeberi said. \u201cI do think that like there\u2019s something about seeing people where they\u2019re really passionate or where they\u2019re excelling at something, it can feel exciting and charged. It\u2019s a hard thing to talk about because we never get it right. I don\u2019t know, my job is to do the thing, and then how you interpret it is how you interpret it.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cBut I do think it\u2019s professional, and I do think if anything were to happen, it would not be the show that we\u2019re making.
