{"id":1981160,"date":"2025-08-26T20:22:37","date_gmt":"2025-08-26T20:22:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1981160"},"modified":"2025-08-26T20:22:37","modified_gmt":"2025-08-26T20:22:37","slug":"spotify-introduces-groundbreaking-new-feature-thats-dividing-users-news-tech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/spotify-introduces-groundbreaking-new-feature-thats-dividing-users-news-tech\/","title":{"rendered":"Spotify introduces groundbreaking new feature that&#8217;s dividing users | News Tech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t\t<\/div><figcaption>It\u2019s the latest feature the music platform has rolled out (Picture: Spotify)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>One of the world\u2019s most popular music streaming services is bringing in a unique feature that\u2019s already dividing users.<\/p>\n<p>Spotify has announced that it will unveil direct messages on the platform, providing a \u2018dedicated space within the app to share songs, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/podcasts\/\">podcasts<\/a>, or audiobooks\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning later this week, messages will roll out to Spotify users \u2013 both Free and Premium \u2013 above the age of 16.<\/p>\n<p>The messages will allow direct conversation to share content on the platform and to chat about music in general. <\/p>\n<p>Other features will include: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Share Spotify content and start a message in-app with people you\u2019ve interacted with before through Spotify.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>When listening to a song, podcast, or audiobook in the Now Playing View, tap the share icon, select a friend, and hit send.<\/li>\n<li>Once you accept a message request, you\u2019ll be able to react with emojis, send texts, and seamlessly share Spotify content back and forth. One X user wrote: \u2018I just want to listen to my music in peace, I have no interest in chatting with my friends.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.acast.com\/%24\/35d3734f-1e29-4d0b-a646-15776be08249\" width=\"100%\" height=\"120px\" class=\"metro-iframe iframe-autoheight \" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" name=\"68ae178c0e381\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think there are enough platforms to already do that. Let something be as it is.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Another added: \u2018One platform where you could mind your business in peace. Literally, who asked for this in the first place?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Spotify could have been social 50 years ago, but instead, the desktop app was the only version with the feature showing what friends are playing,\u2019 another said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018You should be able to have a listening room where you join friends\u2019 music stream and chat.
