Macaulay Culkin<\/a> has a career most in Hollywood could only dream of, but there\u2019s one film that got away. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The \u201cHome Alone\u201d<\/a> star opened up about a script he missed in his younger years when he was on a break from acting, even though he thinks the person who got the role was perfect for it. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI was actually pretty good at reading \u2014 I was kind of voraciously reading through the scripts, but there was a couple that slipped through,\u201d Culkin shared during his appearance on \u201cHot Ones\u201d earlier this month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAnd I remember about two years later, kind of clearing out the house, throwing out the old scripts, and I saw the one that I didn\u2019t read was \u2018Rushmore,\u2019\u201d he said, referencing Wes Anderson\u2019s 1998 film. \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, dang. I probably could\u2019ve done that one.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Culkin said he \u201ccan\u2019t imagine anyone but [Jason] Schwartzman doing that part\u201d in \u201cRushmore,\u201d which ended up launching a decades-long partnership between the actor and Anderson. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cBut, at the same time, like, oh man,\u201d Culkin shared. \u201cThat would have been a ball and a biscuit, that one.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n While Culkin spoke about a role that got away from him, a certain \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d star lost out on a chance to act with the \u201cHome Alone\u201d star for an entirely different reason.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
