Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> once shared sweet love advice to pal Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 and now the friends are both in their engagement eras.<\/p>\n

In resurfaced tweets from 2009, Gomez, now 33, posted that she had a sweet conversation with some children about what love means and it made her feel a certain way.<\/p>\n

\u201cDiscussing love with two 9 yr olds. That\u2019s what love supposed to be,\u201d Gomez tweeted<\/a> at the time. \u201cTruly amazing, I\u2019m never leaving Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift, now 35, replied<\/a> to the actress with some words of wisdom.<\/p>\n

Kelce, 34, dropped a \u201clike\u201d on a GQ Sports Instagram picture of Gomez, 31, cuddling up to her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, at the Los Angeles Lakers basketball game on Wednesday, January 3. Gomez announced in December 2023 that she has [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cReal love still happens sometimes,\u201d the pop star responded. \u201cIt\u2019s not just something we make up when we\u2019re nine. I have to believe that. You do too.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, the twosome formed a friendship as they both dated members of the Jonas Brothers<\/a>. Gomez was in an on and off relationship with Nick Jonas<\/strong> from 2008 to 2010, while Swift dated Joe Jonas<\/strong> in 2008.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe actually dated the Jonas Brothers together! It was hysterical,\u201d Gomez recalled during a 2017 radio interview. \u201cIt was amazing, because [Taylor] was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked.\u201d<\/p>\n

While their love stories with the boybanders didn\u2019t last, Swift and Gomez have remained close to this day.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy only friend in the industry really is Taylor, so I remember feeling like I didn\u2019t belong. I felt the presence of everyone around me living full lives,\u201d Gomez told Rolling Ston<\/em>e in 2022. \u201cI had this position, and I was really happy, but \u2026 was I? Do these materialistic things make me happy? I just didn\u2019t like who I was, because I didn\u2019t know who I was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fast forward nearly two decades, and both women are currently engaged. Gomez was the first to get engaged<\/a> when Benny Blanco<\/strong> proposed in December 2024.<\/p>\n

Blanco, 37, also celebrated the moment, writing in the comments section, \u201cHey wait \u2026 that\u2019s my wife.\u201d Swift sent her congratulations to the happy couple<\/a> at the time and volunteered to take on an iconic role in the couple\u2019s nuptials.<\/p>\n

Gomez, 33, opened up about the early days of her friendship with Swift, 35, during the Thursday, August 7, episode of the \u201cTherapuss\u201d podcast with host Jake Shane. Gomez said that finding a friend in Swift was the \u201cbest thing\u201d that came [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
