\n\tLana Del Rey<\/a>\u2019s country album is still cooking. According to a new cover interview with W<\/em><\/a>, the singer\u2019s long-delayed set is now called Stove<\/em> and will come out in January.<\/p>\n \n\tMost recently scheduled to come out this past spring, Del Rey decided to postpone the album to add six songs.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cThey were more autobiographical than I thought, and that took more time,\u201d she told W<\/em>. \u201cThe majority of the album will have a country flair. Eight years ago, when I was looking to make a country record, no one else was thinking about country,\u201d she said, adding that she then contemplated putting out an album of covers called Country & Western<\/em> but instead began writing originals. <\/em>\u201cNow everyone is going country! I\u2019ve asked myself, Should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I put my cowboy hats in storage?\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tDel Rey first teased her country album<\/a> in January 2024 at the Billboard x NMPA Songwriter Awards event, announcing the title was Lasso<\/em> and that it would come out in September 2024. \u201cWe\u2019re going country!\u201d she declared. \u201cIt\u2019s happening.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tHowever, in October, after the proposed release date had come and gone, Del Rey said on an In Style<\/em> <\/a>red carpet that a shift in the \u201cmusical atmosphere\u201d had led her to pause the project, which she collaborated on with producers Jack Antonoff<\/strong>, Luke Laird<\/strong>, Zachary Dawes <\/strong>and Drew Erickson<\/strong>.\u00a0\u201cThe songs I have I love; I don\u2019t want to turn it into something that\u2019s half-cooked.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe pause was short-lived: Last November, Del Rey posted on Instagram<\/a> that her album, now called The Right Person Will Stay <\/em>would come out on May 21, though that date passed without the album\u2019s release. \u201cSo grateful that my 13 tracks came together with my beautiful work between Luke, Jack, Zach and Drew Erickson amongst others,\u201d the singer-songwriter wrote at the time. \u201cHappy for you to hear a few songs coming up before Stagecoach.
