Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers return later this year with GLORY<\/em>, their sophomore studio album.<\/p>\n \n\tFresh from another north American headline tour and separate arena trek opening for Pearl Jam<\/a>, the Australian indie rockers will drop their next collection Nov. 7 via Mom + Pop.<\/p>\n \n\tGLORY <\/em>is produced by three-times Grammy Award winner\u00a0Catherine Marks\u00a0(boygenius,\u00a0Wolf Alice), <\/em>and houses the previously-released cuts \u201cBalcony,\u201d \u201cUnscarred,\u201d and the new single \u201cMOTHER,\u201d which arrives today and sees guitarist Scarlett McKahey step into lead vocals for the first time.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\tExplore\t\t<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/div>\n <\/p>\n \t<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n See latest videos, charts and news<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n \n\t\u201cMOTHER,\u201d which opens as a brooding, mid-tempo blues number which builds to a full-throttle chorus, is \u201cfor every beautiful, magical lady who\u2019s been caught in the crossfire of a man pretending to be good,\u201d reads a statement from the alternative rock outfit. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt\u2019s about the built up rage of watching incredible women being mistreated by inadequate men, over and over again since the beginning of time. \u2018MOTHER\u2019 builds into a fiery rage and leaves no room for anyone else\u2019s voice.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOn it, McKahey sings, \u201cI shall not suffer a holy man\u2019s crusade.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tGLORY<\/em> is stage two in what has been an extraordinary couple years for Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, formed a decade ago by schoolmates Anna Ryan (lead vocals\/guitar), McKahey (guitar\/vocals), Jaida Stephenson (bass) and Neve van Boxsel (drums).<\/p>\n \n\tSeveral weeks after their debut LP\u00a0I Love You<\/em>\u00a0dropped in at No. 6 on the ARIA Chart, Teen Jesus played a breakthrough showcase for Spotify at the inaugural SXSW Sydney 2023. Spotify doubled down<\/a> on its support by including the band in its worldwide New Noise Artists to Watch list for 2024, tipping them success alongside the likes of Chappell Roan, The Last Dinner Party, Tyla and Teddy Swims.\u00a0<\/p>\n \n\tLater, Teen Jesus would sign with New York-based Mom + Pop Music for the world outside of Australia and New Zealand, and with Warner Chappell\u00a0for publishing. Mom + Pop Music handled the September 2024 release of\u00a0I Love You Too<\/em>, a deluxe edition of their debut album which featured collaborations with\u00a0Softcult\u00a0and\u00a0The Linda Lindas, and won the 2024 AIR Award for Best Independent Rock Album or EP.<\/p>\n \n\tThen, a sweet moment when Teen Jesus opened the 2024 ARIA Awards<\/a>, and went on to win the coveted Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist honour.<\/p>\n \n\tFormed in the nation\u2019s capital Canberra, Teen Jesus have supported Foo Fighters\u00a0in Australia, and secured spots opening for Pearl Jam\u00a0in both the US and Australia.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cEverything that has happened has been completely unbelievable,\u201d Ryan told Rolling Stone Australia<\/a>.<\/em> \u201cIt\u2019s been insane.
