Ed Kelce \u2014 in an interview with Cleveland\u2019s ABC affiliate News 5<\/a> \u2014 revealed that his son proposed to the pop star at a garden in Lee\u2019s Summit, Missouri, just over two weeks ago, a little over two years after the two began dating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHe got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, \u2018Let\u2019s go out and have a glass of wine,\u2019\u201d Ed Kelce said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThey got out there, and that\u2019s when he asked her, and it was beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI knew what they were going to say, and they, you know, let us know,\u201d said Ed Kelce, who added he\u2019d been speculating the propsal would happen \u201cmonths ago\u201d during last year\u2019s NFL season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Ed Kelce said his son was going to delay popping the question until this week \u201cto make it a big special event,\u201d but he thinks Swift may have gotten \u201ca little antsy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAnd I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you,\u201d said Kelce, who noted that Swift\u2019s father \u2014 Scott Swift \u2014 told the NFL star the same thing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He said the newly engaged couple recently met up with him and Donna Kelce, the NFL star\u2019s mother, for a \u201cwonderful\u201d dinner in Kansas City to watch ESPN\u2019s docuseries \u201cThe Kingdom,\u201d which looks at the Chiefs\u2019 quest for a three-peat<\/a> last season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cTo just watch the two of them, just crazy about each other.
