Even longtime music aficionados may never have heard about either of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Amy Berg\u2019s fine documentary <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/lastpicturehouse.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:\u201cIt\u2019s Never Over, Jeff Buckley,\u201d;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">\u201cIt\u2019s Never Over, Jeff Buckley,\u201d<\/a> is a tribute to Buckley and the talent with which he was born (his mother talks about how he sang in his bassinet.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">His mother isn\u2019t the only woman who was part of Jeff\u2019s life who has a major part in the telling of the singer\u2019s growing up, finding his voice, and his musical works.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">His mother talks about meeting Tim Buckley when they were high-school students, and how they both loved music. Because Tim Buckley made it clear that he didn\u2019t want to be a father, she raised Jeff all on her own \u2013 \u201cJeff and I sort of raised each other,\u201d she remembers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The film never feels less than intimate, with photos blended with memories and even some performance videos that make the audience feel they not only know Jeff Buckley, but also understand the vibe from his concert performances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">I loved hearing the likes of Ben Harper remember Buckley, and other friends and musicians who remembers Buckley\u2019s affection for Nina Simone, Led Zeppelin, Dmitri Shostakovich and Al Di Meola.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">I consider Jeff Buckley a folk\/rock singer\/songwriter, but you might have other ideas. His only studio album, \u201cGrace,\u201d includes his cover of Leonard Cohen\u2019s \u201cHallelujah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cHallelujah\u201d has been covered by lots of artists, but there\u2019s something plaintiff and soulful about Buckley\u2019s version that has made it a favorite for generations. The other songs on \u201cGrace\u201d are memorable, too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">So\u00a0 give it a listen. See what you think.
