Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> entrusted his and fianc\u00e9e Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s fathers to help him come up with the perfect proposal plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had sent me a picture of the ring, and this was a while ago,\u201d Travis\u2019 dad, Ed Kelce<\/strong>, said on the Tuesday, August 26, episode of the \u201cThe Jimmy & Nath Show With Emma\u201d podcast<\/a>. \u201cFamily on both sides, kind of, assumed this was going to happen because we\u2019ve never seen our kids so happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Ed, Travis, 35, went to ask Taylor\u2019s dad, Scott Swift<\/strong>, for his blessing<\/a> \u201cprobably a month ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis and Swift, both 35, announced their engagement earlier on Tuesday, sharing the news via a joint Instagram post.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTravis Kelce\u2019s dad, Ed Kelce, is giving sports fans and Swifties alike an inside look into his son\u2019s long-awaited proposal to Taylor Swift. \u201cTravis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,\u201d Ed told local outlet and ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland on Tuesday, August 26, just hours after the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cTravis had these plans to do it, I think, on the next weekend before he took off for Brazil,\u201d Ed claimed, referring to Travis\u2019 first Kansas City Chiefs game of the 2025-2026 season<\/a> in September. \u201cHe was going to make a big production out of it. [He] wanted to make it really special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis ultimately moved up his proposal plans, popping the question<\/a> earlier this month in the backyard of his house in Kansas City, Missouri.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told him the same thing Scott told him, [which was] asking her is what\u2019s going to make it special,\u201d Ed said. \u201cThat\u2019s where you do it, you know what I mean? \u2026 Scott adds on, \u2018Just get it done [and] don\u2019t worry about any special date. You\u2019re ready, you got the ring [and] go do it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Swift and Kelce announced in August 2025 that they are engaged. \u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,\u201d the pair captioned a joint Instagram post, nodding to both Swift\u2019s prolific songwriting [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Travis proposed to Swift with an old mine brilliant cut diamond ring designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry. The rock is set on a gold band with smaller stones and has a thin bezel.<\/p>\n

\u201cTravis is incredibly thoughtful. He had a clear vision of what he wanted,\u201d a source exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i><\/a>of what the NFL tight end wanted for Taylor\u2019s ring design. \u201cHe did it almost entirely on his own. He knows her so well and what she likes \u2014 a timeless, classic, vintage touch.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the insider, Travis was \u201cvery observant and in tune with\u201d Taylor\u2019s preferred style and wanted to pick out a ring that she\u2019d like.<\/p>\n

As Ed mentioned, he got a sneak peek of the ring nearly a month before Travis slipped the bauble on Taylor\u2019s left ring finger.<\/p>\n
