The post Chat Pile and Hayden Pedigo Announce Collab Album, Release Lead Single \u201cRadioactive Dreams\u201d: Stream<\/a> appeared first on Consequence<\/a>.<\/p>\n Chat Pile<\/a> have teamed up with finger-picking guitar maestro Hayden Pedigo for a new collaborative album, In the Earth Again<\/em>, arriving on Halloween (October 31st).<\/p>\n The collab is a pairing of Oklahoma underground talent, as heard on the lead single \u201cRadioactive Dreams.\u201d Pedigo\u2019s atmospheric guitarwork guides the beginning of the song, offering his fans a rare chance to hear his musical stylings with lyrics via Chat Pile frontman Raygun Busch. The rest of the band eventually fall in, the volume rising and falling in a gradient, ala post-rock.<\/p>\n Get Chat Pile Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe all wanted to avoid the downfall you see in a lot of collab records,\u201d said Pedigo via press release, the guitarist having crossed paths with Chat Pile via the Oklahoma City DIY scene. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want this record to either end up primarily sounding like one of us more than the other.\u201d<\/p>\n Especially for Chat Pile, the album \u2014\u00a0initially conceived as a shorter split release \u2014 allowed the band to eschew their typically sludgy\/noisy brand of post-hardcore for moodier arrangements and varied instrumentation, as well as sonic experimentation with the use of samplers and tape manipulation.<\/p>\n Stated Stin from Chat Pile: \u201cFor the album, every decision made was in support of each other\u2019s ideas and making sure that everything we did was in service of a greater vision.\u201d<\/p>\n While Chat Pile and Pedigo haven\u2019t announced any joint live performances, both will be on respective US tours this fall.
