Karen Huger<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is set to be released from jail months early, and Us Weekly<\/em> can confirm her new release date.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Real Housewives of Potomac<\/em><\/a> star, 62, will be leaving the Montgomery County Detention Center in Maryland on September 2 at around 10 a.m.<\/p>\n

Huger has been behind bars since February 27, 2025.<\/p>\n

The Jasmine Brand<\/em><\/a> was the first to report the news.<\/p>\n

Huger\u2019s conviction stemmed from<\/a> her March 2024 car accident in Potomac, Maryland. The Montgomery County Police told TMZ at the time that she was driving her 2017 Maserati in an \u201caggressive manner\u201d when she struck an intersection crosswalk sign and a parking sign.<\/p>\n

Although she was not arrested at the scene, Huger received multiple citations from police at the time and was later charged with a DUI<\/a> and DWI.<\/p>\n

Following the collision, Huger shared a lengthy statement about her state of mind before the crash while detailing her version of events.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you all for your prayers and well wishes during this very frightening experience. I am still in shock from last night\u2019s incident but grateful to be alive today. With the passing of my beloved mother, grief comes and goes in waves, and with Mother\u2019s Day approaching it has felt more like a tsunami,\u201d she told TMZ in March 2024. \u201cLast night I met a girlfriend for dinner, we talked and brought up some very emotionally sensitive topics. I was crying on my way home and saw a car heading right for me. I swerved to avoid the head-on collision, hit the divider and then a tree. I\u2019m hurt, bruised up a bit, but so grateful I am alive! I did receive citations, one of which was unrelated to the incident which is understandable, but what was most surprising is that the car that almost hit me just drove away!\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded: \u201cI would like to stress, it\u2019s important to understand your emotional state<\/a> when driving and may this be a reminder to all to use their seatbelts. My mother may be my guardian angel, but the seatbelt saved my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
