The Royals bats went quiet last night and Chicago against the White Sox blanked 7 to nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n They would be outdone by right-hander Sheen Smith.<\/span><\/p>\n He was terrific.<\/span> 7 shutout innings, 3 strikeouts.<\/span><\/p>\n He runs his record to four and seven after the seven nothing win.<\/span><\/p>\n On the mound for the Royals was the young lefty Noah Cameron went five, gave up six runs, couple of home runs on eight hits.<\/span> His record falls to seven and six.<\/span><\/p>\n The Royals slipped back to two games above the 500 mark, continuing the battle for that American League wild card and the wild card spots.<\/span><\/p>\n Right now, they\u2019re the first team out, four games behind the Seattle Mariners, who watched catcher Cal rally hit his 50th home run of the year last night.<\/span><\/p>\n Cardinals, meanwhile, post their lowest announced attendance, just over 17,000, the lowest attendance ever at Busch Stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n But they beat the Pirates last night on a walk off home run from Alec Burleson 7 to 6.<\/span><\/p>\n For Burleson, that was one of four hits on the night.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n
