\n<\/blockquote>\nWells claimed that the celebrity would have a \u201cscreaming rage at any moment\u2019s notice.\u201d At one point, he said he was grocery shopping at night and received a call from the person saying he \u201cf***ed up.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cNo context, just rage,\u201d Wells explained. \u201cI never knew what version of this person I was going to get when I came in for work. And I worked at their home, so it was inescapable. One time this person publicly humiliated me on my first time ever on set with over 50 people there, in front of another celebrity they were filming with. [They] screamed at me in front of everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wells claimed that the star would make \u201ccomments about my femininity,\u201d and alleged that \u201cno man would ever desire me if I kept wearing lip gloss.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey threw things I confided in them back in my face,\u201d Wells said. \u201cIncluding things about my upbringing, even the fact that I was on Lexapro. Every time I tried to stand up for myself, they would tell me, \u2018Back in my day, you were never allowed to say how you felt. You would have just been fired on the spot.\u2019 Or would find some way to gaslight me and tell me, \u2018This is how all of L.A. is. If you can\u2019t handle me then you\u2019re not cut out for L.A.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wells shared that he \u201cbelieved\u201d the celebrity \u201cfor a while,\u201d feeling \u201ctrapped\u201d and \u201cscared to leave.\u201d Wells said he woke up every day with \u201cutter dread\u201d before going to work \u2014 until he hit a \u201cbreaking point\u201d when the person began \u201canother screaming rage\u201d about a plumbing issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cI gave them a few more chances to stop yelling, and then finally I just broke,\u201d Wells recalled, \u201c[I said], \u2018Alright, then you know what, I quit.\u2019 I start packing up all my things and they say, \u2018What did you just say? You\u2019re quitting? You\u2019re quitting on me? If you\u2019re quitting, you need to tell me now.\u2019 I remember pausing, setting my bag on the counter and saying, \u2018You can stop screaming at me and I will help you find a plumber, or you can keep screaming at me and I will walk out of that front door right now. You choose.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Wells alleged that the celebrity decided to continue \u201cscreaming,\u201d so he walked toward the front door. Right before he exited, the star said, \u201cYou can prance on out of here all you want Tyler but you will always be nasty.\u201d Wells told the celebrity to \u201clook in the mirror\u201d before taking off and sending \u201cone final goodbye text\u201d on the drive home.<\/p>\n
He shared a screenshot of the text message, which was partially crossed off but read, \u201cI am done being screamed at and being on the receiving end of your punches. I am not a human punching bag. \u2026 I gave you multiple chances to calm down, and you kept screaming at me. It is 2022, and you might not have been able to advocate for yourself in the workplace but I am, and I will no longer tolerate your abuse. Good luck to you.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wells ultimately made a \u201chuge promise\u201d to himself for the future. \u201cI will never let anyone disrespect me like that again, and I will always advocate for myself,\u201d he said. \u201cRespect is earned, not given. If you\u2019re in a job where you feel like you have to compromise your peace or tolerate that kind of abuse, you don\u2019t. You\u2019re allowed to speak up for yourself. And sometimes, walking away is the bravest thing that you can do.\u201d<\/p>\n
