The celebs are ready to sail through the canals at the 2025 <\/span>Venice Film Festival<\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

With the annual event set to kick off in Italy on Aug. 27\u2014and run through Sept. 6\u2014the stars were<\/span> out and about to celebrate the<\/span> unofficial start of awards <\/span>season<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

George Clooney<\/strong><\/a> and <\/span>Amal Clooney<\/strong><\/a> were seen waving to crowds from their boat, <\/span>with the 64-year-old keeping<\/span> it casual for the ride, sporting a black polo and beige khakis along with a pair of aviator sunglasses. Amal, 47, looked effortlessly glamorous in a butter yellow, calf length dress, complete with a gold belt, white heels and a matching white bag. <\/span><\/p>\n

George is on hand to promote his latest film <\/span>Jay Kelly<\/span>, which sees him starring as the titular character, a famous movie star on an unexpected journey alongside his manager, played by <\/span>Adam Sandler<\/strong><\/a>\u2014who also arrived ahead of the festival, sporting his signature basketball shorts and holding an actual basketball.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also ready for a festival on the water was <\/span>Emma Stone<\/strong><\/a>, wearing a smile and a baseball cap, who has teamed up with director <\/span>Yargos Lanthimos<\/strong> once again for their new film <\/span>Bugonia<\/span>. The 36-year-old stars as the high-powered CEO of a major company who is kidnapped by <\/span>two conspiracy<\/span>-obsessed young men. She\u2019s joined on screen by <\/span>Jesse Plemons<\/strong> and <\/span>Alicia Silverstone<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Venice will also give fans their first look at <\/span>Guillermo del Toro<\/strong>\u2019s adaptation of <\/span>Frankenstein<\/span>, which hits theaters Oct. 17 before heading to Netflix on Nov. 7. The new version stars <\/span>Oscar Isaac<\/strong><\/a> as Victor Frankenstein, with <\/span>Jacob Elordi<\/strong><\/a> playing his <\/span>famously monstrous creation<\/span><\/a>\u2014<\/span>a role that had him in the makeup chair for nearly 10 hours a day. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so many different layers to the costume,\u201d Jacob told <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/a> in an interview published Aug. 20. \u201cWhen he\u2019s born, he\u2019s wearing nearly nothing. His chest is open and his head is high.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The 28-year-old further expanded on his character, noting that when the monster \u201cstarts to experience pain, as we do as a teenager, he starts to hunch his shoulders. And as an adult, he closes off.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
