Sonia Kruger is celebrating her milestone 60th birthday and cheekily quipped that the older you get, the better champagne tastes.<\/p>\n

The Australian TV presenting queen stunned her fans on Thursday after sharing a series of images from a photoshoot at the Sofitel hotel in Sydney to honour her special day.<\/p>\n

Kruger looked glamorous in a black sheer mini dress while she posed with six huge helium balloons to mark the occasion. In another photo, she changed into a different but equally chic black dress for a snap that overlooked Darling Harbour.<\/p>\n

A third celebratory photo saw Kruger pose with a bottle of bubbles, wearing a black jumpsuit and sunglasses while flashing a happy smile.<\/p>\n

\u201cLevel 6 unlocked! The higher you go, the better the champagne tastes,\u201d she said in the post\u2019s caption.<\/p>\n

The Dancing With The Stars host\u2019s friends flooded the comments with happy birthday wishes and were taken aback by her glowing figure.<\/p>\n

Dannii Minogue said: \u201cStunning.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ricki-Lee Coulter said: \u201cHappy Birthday, gorgeous one.\u201d<\/p>\n

DWTS judge Sharna Burgess said: \u201cI would like to be you when I grow up. Stunning, mama.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before her birthday rolled around, Kruger spilled her best age-defying beauty secret.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a sense of humour is actually the best kept secret, you\u2019ve got to be able to have a good laugh with friends and family, because it really is the best medicine,\u201d she told news.com.au\u2019s The Beauty Diary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen I think regular exercise is key. I do weight training, and I use Strictly You, my dance fitness app, which is great when you\u2019re too busy to hit the gym. It\u2019s important to have some variety in your exercise routine to keep things interesting.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also try to eat well, but I do have a soft spot for liquorice bullets, and I must say they also make me very happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Kruger has opened up about entering a new era, she originally wasn\u2019t so sure about discussing her age in the public eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s an obsession in the media with women and their age, and so I was thinking, \u2018Am I feeding that obsession or is it a positive thing?\u2019\u201d she told Body and Soul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She said getting older was part of life, but she wanted to do it well by staying fit and eating healthy.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t want to have any kind of chronic disease, and you want to be as fit, active, mobile and happy as you possibly can. In life, you reap what you sow. I want to enjoy my life. I want my friends and family to enjoy having me around, and I want to enjoy their company. I know it sounds immature, but I want to have a good time,\u201d she told the magazine.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to work on our muscle strength because we know we\u2019re going to lose muscle mass as we get older. I want to be able to move furniture around or put a suitcase up in a cupboard if I have to. I want to stay as strong as I can for as long as I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kruger said she was stoked to be joining the 60s club that included the likes of Elle Macpherson, Brooke Shields and Liz Hurley.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great because you feel like you have your little club of people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know who else is in my club? He\u2019s a bit older, but Brad Pitt. And George Clooney. Even the men are redefining the 60s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kruger also revealed she has no plans to retire from showbiz just yet but is keen to transition into behind the scenes work in production and wants to mentor emerging presenters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
