Apple<\/a> has quietly rolled out its playlist transfer feature to seven new markets including the United States, allowing users to switch from rival streaming services quickly<\/p>\n The tool, which launched in Australia and New Zealand in May, now works in the US, UK, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany and Mexico, according to Apple\u2019s updated support page<\/a>, which was first spotted<\/a> by Mac Rumors.<\/i> The transfer feature lets users import their saved songs, albums, and playlists from other music services such as Spotify<\/a> to Apple Music<\/a>.<\/p>\n However, Apple says \u201cwhat you can transfer varies and is determined by the service.\u201d<\/p>\n Apple explained: \u201cYou can still access all of your saved content in the other service. Transferring music to Apple Music is provided by a third-party.\u201d<\/p>\n Mac Rumors <\/i>noted that the process relies on a partnership with SongShift, a third-party service that lets users migrate their playlists to another music streaming service.<\/p>\n Users can do the transfers through the Apple Music app on their iPhone, iPad, Android device, or via the platform\u2019s web version. The system attempts to find matches for the music from the source app. When matches can\u2019t be found, users get 30 days to review alternative versions before they\u2019re excluded from the transfer.<\/p>\n The timing of Apple Music\u2019s new feature coincides with Spotify\u2019s recent price hikes. Earlier this month, Spotify said<\/a> Premium subscribers will soon receive an email explaining the price change, which applies to \u201cmultiple markets across\u00a0South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America<\/b>\u00a0and the\u00a0Asia-Pacific<\/b>\u00a0region.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTo continue to innovate on our product offerings and features and bring users the best experience, we occasionally update our prices,\u201d Spotify explained.<\/p>\n In the US, the price of Spotify Premium has been increased to $11.99 in 2024 from $9.99 in 2022. Meanwhile, Apple Music hasn\u2019t seen a price hike in the US since 2022, when it\u00a0raised the monthly subscription price<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0$10.99<\/b>\u00a0from\u00a0$9.99<\/b>.<\/p>\n Just last week, Apple hiked the price<\/a> of its TV streaming service,\u00a0Apple TV+<\/b>,\u00a0in the US by 30% <\/b>to $12.99<\/b>.
