The Grand Ole Opry<\/a><\/strong> announced at the end of July that in honor of its year-long 100th anniversary, it would be releasing a “truly historic” album<\/a> full of famous \u201cnever-before-released live Opry performances of 20 iconic tracks” called Opry 100: Country\u2019s Greatest Songs.<\/p>\n On Monday, August 25, the Grand Ole Opry has released<\/a> the second single from the album, which drops in full on November 7, just three weeks before the official 100th anniversary of the Opry’s inaugural radio broadcast on November 28, 1925.<\/p>\n The second single of the album is a live version of “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” one of the all-time most iconic country music songs. This live recording is a “full circle mix” of original artist George Jones<\/strong>‘<\/a> performance on the Grand Ole Opry stage in 1993, with Alan Jackson<\/a><\/strong> singing the song on the Opry stage for Jones’ funeral when he died in 2013 at the age of 81.<\/p>\n RELATED: Country Star Says Alan Jackson, 66, Is ‘Sad to Watch’<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Jones first joined the Opry in August 1956, and Jackson became an Opry member in June 1991.<\/p>\n On the Instagram post<\/a> of the newly imagined recording, the Opry writes, “When George Jones passed away, his family chose the Opry House \u2014 the home of the music he loved \u2014 as the site for his funeral service.
