Find out more below.<\/p>\n<p>The new song comes as the latest preview of the NYC rock group\u2019s upcoming third album \u2018<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/geese-announce-third-album-getting-killed-with-soaring-new-single-taxes-3877022\">Getting Killed<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 following on from soaring lead single \u2018<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/geese-announce-third-album-getting-killed-with-soaring-new-single-taxes-3877022\">Taxes<\/a>\u2019, and a preview of a song called \u2018Trinidad\u2019 which was leaked at Newport Folk Festival.<\/p>\n<p>This time around, the band lock into a rambling, groove-driven melody which has a tongue-in-cheek way of welcoming global collapse with open arms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>All people must smile, In times of war\/ General Smith told me\/ I would never smile again\/ He said that I would never smile again, but not to worry\/ For all people must stop smiling once they get what they\u2019ve been begging for<\/em>,\u201d sings frontman Cameron Winter.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Geese - 100 Horses (Official Audio)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DT0RBSpDiKo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The new album from the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/the-cover\/geese-12-06-2023-3454434\">former <em>NME Cover<\/em> stars<\/a> will follow-up from 2023\u2019s sophomore album, \u2018<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/reviews\/album\/geese-3d-country-review-cowboy-nudes-album-radar-3459011\">3D Country<\/a>\u2019, and is set to arrive on September 26 via Partisan, and you can <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/geese.lnk.to\/GettingKilled\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pre-order\/pre-save here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It comprises 11 songs and looks to \u201cobliterate any expectations the band has set with their discography to date\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter lighting the fuse with the beguiling post-punk experiments of their 2021 debut album \u2018Projector\u2019 and the rollicking cowboy rock record follow-up of 2023\u2019s \u20183D Country\u2019, \u2018Getting Killed\u2019 examines the wreckage of blowing up those ideas and picking up the pieces to form their own bold and exacting vision,\u201d states a new press release.<\/p>\n<p>It was recorded with renowned producer <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/kenny-beats\">Kenny Beats<\/a> (aka Kenneth Blume) in his LA studio over a month, and Geese emerged from these sessions with \u201ca chaotic comedy of epic proportions\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>To celebrate the release, Geese have shared new details of a UK and European tour set for next spring. Guitarist Emily Green added: \u201cWe just get bored of the old shit.\u201d Drummer Max Bassin agreed: \u201cA lot of what we do is trying not to repeat ourselves musically. The themes for \u2018Projector\u2019 are very different from \u20183D Country\u2019, and the next record will also change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a matter of us sitting with something for so long that there\u2019s been ample time to feel every kind of way about it, so that by the time the album comes out and we\u2019re playing it live, it\u2019s a different beast.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since then, singer Cameron Winter has embarked on a solo project as well, sharing his acclaimed debut solo album, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/geese-cameron-winter-interview-solo-album-heavy-metal-tom-waits-bob-dylan-3807498\">\u2018Heavy Metal\u2019<\/a>, last December. That LP was <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/nick-cave-reveals-the-glorious-album-hes-currently-enjoying-at-the-moment-3855163\">praised by Nick Cave as being \u201cglorious\u201d<\/a>, and also saw the frontman <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/watch-geeses-cameron-winter-play-new-unreleased-solo-songs-at-intimate-nyc-pop-up-show-3846111\">play an intimate pop-up show in NYC, where he teased more solo material<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/geese-cameron-winter-interview-solo-album-heavy-metal-tom-waits-bob-dylan-3807498\">Previously speaking to\u00a0<em>NME<\/em>, Winter opened up about tackling the creative space freely without acknowledging the pressures that may come<\/a>. \u201cI like doing what I want to do, and ideally, I don\u2019t care about what anyone expects or wants from me, but it\u2019s not a hostile thing or anything like that to me, and that\u2019s what I think is a big misunderstanding that often is had between me and the people who I work with or who listen to the music,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA big note I got on this was that it\u2019s \u2018too heavy and you\u2019re going to scare people away\u2019 and I don\u2019t want it to scare people away. I feel like when I listen to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/artists\/tom-waits\">Tom Waits<\/a> or <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/leonard-cohen\">Leonard Cohen<\/a> or those sort of sad sacks, they\u2019re more depressed than I am by a long shot, but I never feel like their songs are devoid of hope or anything.
