The new season of Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2019s lifestyle show has failed to pull in an audience and is \u201cnot doing well\u201d for Netflix<\/a>, a source has claimed.<\/p>\n

The second series of With Love, Meghan, aired on Tuesday and was subject to a spate of negative reviews <\/a>by major publications just hours after its premiere. The second instalment, which follows on from the equally panned first season, sees Meghan share cooking, crafting, and hosting tips with a range of pals and experts.<\/p>\n

But despite her range of celebrity guests, it seems the programme has failed to excite the Netflix audience, with a source revealing the future of the show is now up in the air. It comes after confirmation that Prince Harry will return to the UK on anniversary of Queen Elizabeth\u2019s death<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople who worked on the show don\u2019t think it will be picked up for another season,\u201d an insider told Parade<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not doing well or what the network would have hoped it would do.\u201d The source added: \u201cIt\u2019s not the success they wanted it to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

The claims come after season two of With Love, Meghan was widely panned just hours after its highly-anticipated release on Netflix on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

In the second instalment, Meghan is joined by guests such as US model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye star Tan France<\/a>, as well as podcaster Jay Shetty and his cookbook author wife Radhi Devlukia. While chefs joining Meghan include Clare Smyth, who runs Core, a three-Michelin star restaurant in London, and Jose Andres, who set up the World Central Kitchen.<\/p>\n

Despite the line-up of celebrity figures featuring on the show, critics have shared their scathing reviews of the second series, with The Telegraph <\/a>giving the lifestyle a two-star rating, panning the season as \u201cmarginally less mad but more needy\u201d than its first instalment.<\/p>\n

The review went on to call Meghan a \u201cMontecito Marie Antoinette\u201d, and called the series as a whole \u201cboring and at times, pretty insufferable\u201d. The Telegraph’s Anita Singh added that Harry’s absence from the show – despite the programme being based on the couple’s Californian home life – was becoming \u201cincreasingly weird<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

The sentiment was echoed by The Guardian<\/u><\/a>, who dismissed the show as a \u201cgormless lifestyle filler\u201d. The publication also gave the second series a mere two stars, as the review went on to say how Meghan\u2019s show is \u201cso painfully contrived that it\u2019s genuinely fascinating,\u201d before questioning whether \u201cMeghan\u2019s impulse to sprinkle flowers over everything is a choice or a compulsion\u201d.<\/p>\n

While professional critics seemed to unanimously dislike the second series of With Love, Meghan, some of the Duchess\u2019s loyal fans online have shared their opposite thoughts on the show, with one viewer writing on X: “It was such a joy and laughter. I loved every episode.”<\/p>\n

Meghan also defended her show<\/a> in an appearance on The Circuit podcast with host Emily Chang when she was asked about the divisive reviews of season one of the show, and how the hate comments landed, as she said: \u201cI think I know who I was trying to meet, so if you know your audience and you know your demographic, well they love the show, and my partners love the show and that\u2019s why we have a season two.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I often think of the negative voices, are they saying negative things and then secretly going home and making my single skillet spaghetti? Maybe they are. So from my standpoint, the intention of the show was to show more of myself, to share tips that I love in my life, and to have fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Mirror<\/a> contacted Meghan’s representatives for comment, who dismissed the claims.<\/p>\n
