Meghan Markle and Prince Harry pictured in January 2020 via Associated Press<\/span><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Meghan Markle<\/span> has admitted there\u2019s one specific part of royal life she\u2019s been quite happy to see the back of since stepping down from her role as a senior member of the family.<\/span><\/p>\n The former Suits star married her husband, Prince Harry<\/span>, in 2019, with the couple announcing the following year<\/a> that they intended to give up their roles as senior royals and divide their time between the US and the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n Since then, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have repeatedly lifted the lid on their lives as part of the Royal Family in bombshell TV interviews<\/a>, their Netflix documentary<\/a> and Prince Harry\u2019s revealing 2023 memoir Spare<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n And while promoting the latest season of her Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan<\/span>, she revealed there was one choice she was thrilled at no longer having made for her in the last few years.<\/span><\/p>\n During an interview with Bloomberg<\/a>, Meghan was asked if there was \u201c<\/span>an inherent tension in trying to be relatable while also being a duchess\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNo\u2026 I\u2019m just being myself,\u201d she responded. \u201cI think, probably it was different several years ago, where I couldn\u2019t be as vocal and had to wear nude pantyhose all the time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Elaborating further on her aversion to nude tights, she continued: \u201cLet\u2019s be honest, that was not very myself. I hadn\u2019t seen pantyhose since movies in the 80s when they came in the little egg. That felt a little bit inauthentic.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBut that\u2019s a silly example, but it is an example of when you\u2019re able to dress the way you want to dress, and you\u2019re able to say the things that are true, and you\u2019re able to show up in the space really organically and authentically.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In 2022, Meghan admitted that she struggled with the limitations that were put on her wardrobe when she was still a senior royal.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>Most of the time that I was in the UK, I rarely wore colour,\u201d she said in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. \u201cThere was thought in that.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTo my understanding, you can\u2019t ever wear the same colour as [the late Queen Elizabeth II] if there\u2019s a group event. But then, you also shouldn\u2019t be wearing the same colour as one of the other, more senior members of the family. So I was like, \u2018well what\u2019s a colour that they\u2019ll probably never wear? Camel? Beige? White?\u2019. So, I wore a lot of muted tones.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBut it also was so I could just blend in. Like, I\u2019m not trying to stand out here. So there\u2019s no version of me joining this family and trying to not do everything I could to fit in.
