Fans of country music star Gary Allan are sending prayers and well-wishes this week after he announced the death of his mother.<\/p>\n
Allan\u2019s official Facebook account<\/b> <\/a>made the revelation via a statement posted there on Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the loss of Gary\u2019s mom, Mary Herzberg, who passed away yesterday,\u201d the post read. \u201cMary was so much more than a supportive mother \u2014 she was Gary\u2019s friend, confidant, biggest critic, biggest fan, his original fan club president, and most importantly, his mom. She championed him not only in his career but also in every part of his life.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you had the privilege of meeting Mary, whether in person or online, you know the depth of her pride and love for Gary and her entire family,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cHer warmth, encouragement, and unwavering spirit touched all who knew her.\u201d<\/p>\n The statement also noted that Herzberg\u2019s husband of 51 years, Harley, died in 2008.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease keep Gary, his siblings Tammy and Greg, and the entire Herzberg family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,\u201d the statement added. \u201cWe will miss you dearly, Mama Mary.\u201d<\/p>\n Again, fans and friends were there to offer supporting words.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m at a loss for the right words to say,\u201d Mary Katherine Smith wrote. \u201cI know the loss of my mother (sadly way too young), and given his mother and my father are close in age, I appreciate also the tone of the loss of an older parent as well when mine nearly died earlier this year.
