Twin Rivers High School junior Reagan Thomas is only step away from her volleyball season and can\u2019t wait to get on the court and play.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very excited,\u201d Thomas said. \u201cI\u2019m excited to see the potential that we all have this season and see how much we grow throughout the season, and be together and get to know each other better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Thomas started playing volleyball at a young age and her passion has continued to grow over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI started playing volleyball my sixth grade year, but I learned to love the sport more when I was my seventh or eighth grade year,\u201d she said. \u201cMy family has played volleyball in the past, so it kind of just drew me closer to play it and just follow them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n During her sophomore season, Thomas had eight kills with a 24.2 kill percentage, helping her team achieve 10 wins during the season. Thomas feels her time on the court with her teammates has helped her.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cPlaying with the high school people has made me better and has impacted me more,\u201d she added. \u201cWe\u2019ve had a lot of team bonding experiences and been growing closer and getting to know each other, which makes it easier to come together on the court.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Thomas is coached by Marisa Vancil and Kelly Westerfield. She credited them for their guidance and support they\u2019ve given her throughout her journey.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ve helped me a lot with going through volleyball and life,\u201d Thomas said of her coaching staff. \u201cThey have really touched my heart and have been like family to me. They\u2019ve impacted my journey a lot throughout the last few years. They teach and have let me grow the way I need too and have led me towards the right decisions and right ways.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The team\u2019s first game is Sept. 2 at home against the Kelly Lady Hawks, followed by other home matches against Doniphan and Pemiscot. During the season, the Royals will play 19 games.
