\n\tHeart lead vocalist Ann Wilson<\/a> is getting a documentary, The Hollywood Reporter <\/em>can exclusively reveal, as the singer-songwriter will be pulling back the curtain on her life with In My Voice.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe most important lesson I\u2019ve learned along the long and winding road, to thine own self be true,\u201d Wilson says in a teaser for the film shared Thursday. <\/p>\n

\n\tWilson, 75, is one of the most iconic artists of her generation, the voice on hits like \u201cCrazy On You,\u201d \u201cBarracuda\u201d and \u201cMagic Man\u201d among others, and the creative force behind Heart alongside sister Nancy Wilson. Together, they forged one of the most formidable duos in rock from the \u201970s onward, breaking through as one of the few female-fronted heavy rock groups of the time in a genre that was almost entirely dominated by men. The band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis film is my story in my own words, told the way I\u2019ve always wanted to tell it,\u201d Wilson said in a statement Thursday. \u201cIt\u2019s about finding my voice, keeping it alive, and sharing the journey with the people who\u2019ve been part of it all along.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the documentary\u2019s announcement, the film draws from a \u201cpersonal archive of home movies, photographs, journals, and never-before-seen footage.\u201d Along with Wilson herself, In My Voice <\/em>will feature additional commentary from unspecified friends, family members, music executives, and fellow bandmates. So far, no details have been shared on when the film will release. The Wilson doc is the latest in a surge of music documentaries<\/a> to surface this year, as more artists and companies are leaning into the format to tell their stories on their own terms. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe documentary is being directed by Emmy-nominated director and producer Barbara Hall, whose credits include specials on fellow music legends like Patsy Cline and Charley Pride among others. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhat an honor to tell the story of one of our greatest rock music voices of all time,\u201d Hall said in a statement. \u201cHer voice notwithstanding, her story exceeds a scriptwriter\u2019s imagination, and her courage to share her story is inspiring.
