Mudvayne<\/a> have dropped their first new song in 16 years, \u201cHurt People Hurt People.\u201d<\/p>\n The aggressive track touts an unrelenting barrage of groove riffs and gnarly production that crushes out frontman Chad Gray\u2019s vocals with distortion. It\u2019s a classic industrial nu-metal treatment, evoking the band\u2019s commercial peak in the 2000s. As for the lyrical content, the song expresses a surprisingly positive moral lesson despite the sonic harshness.<\/p>\n Get Mudvayne Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHurt People Hurt People\u2019 has probably been around since the beginning of man,\u201d said Gray\u00a0<\/strong>in a press release. \u201cCertainly longer than the phrase ever existed. The endless cycle of projecting our pain onto others. I think I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to break the cycle. We create our own suffering, our own hurt. It\u2019s time for us to create self-love and let go of the pain. It was never ours to begin with.\u201d<\/p>\n The first new material from Mudvayne since their 2009 self-titled LP features Gray alongside guitarist Greg Tribbett, bassist Ryan Martinie, and drummer Matthew McDonough.<\/p>\n It\u2019s this lineup that will be hitting the road for a co-headlining tour with Static-X<\/a>. Both bands will be celebrating the 25th anniversaries of their respective classic albums \u2014 Mudvayne\u2019s L.D. 50<\/em> and Static-X\u2019s Wisconsin Death Trip<\/em> \u2014 with dates kicking off September 11th in Dubuque, Iowa.
