It turns out Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s intimate proposal to Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> had a few extra onlookers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Travis\u2019 dad, Ed Kelce<\/strong><\/a>, revealed how his son\u2019s big moment nearly got ruined by some helpful individuals who had to quickly duck out of the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey were going to go out to dinner and she was ready to go,\u201d Ed, 74, said Tuesday, August 26, on Australia\u2019s The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma<\/i><\/a>. \u201c[Travis] said, \u2018Let\u2019s go out in the garden.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to his father, Travis, 35, suggested that he and Swift, 35, have a glass of wine on the outdoor patio at his Kansas City home before they left for dinner.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTravis Kelce planned out his proposal to now-fianc\u00e9e Taylor Swift in advance \u2014 including asking her parents for her hand in marriage. \u201cTravis asked Taylor\u2019s parents for their blessing,\u201d a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, referring to the pop star\u2019s mom and dad, Andrea and Scott Swift. Kelce and Taylor, both 35, announced their engagement [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThey went out there and I think she knew something was up because as they approached, as they walked out there, she could see suddenly there\u2019s a lot more flowers out there,\u201d Ed said. \u201cYou see the way that\u2019s decorated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ed continued, \u201cThat was all decorated by some people that help Travis out with a lot of things. They got it all ready.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The floral arrangements were put into place with hardly a moment to spare, which led Travis\u2019 assistants scrambling, according to Ed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey actually saw [Travis and Taylor] coming,\u201d Ed said. \u201cThey hid in the bushes so they weren\u2019t part of it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Travis and Swift announced their engagement<\/a> via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married \ud83e\udde8,\u201d the post read, showing off a carousel of photos from the garden proposal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ed revealed the engagement happened \u201cnot quite two weeks ago\u201d<\/a> in an interview with ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe was going to put it off till this week \u2026 but he was going to put her off till this week to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big, special event,\u201d Ed said. \u201cAnd I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event \u2026 when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
