Actor Floyd Levine, whose career spanned numerous decades and a variety of projects ranging from films \u201cThe Hangover\u201d and \u201cNorbit\u201d to TV shows \u201cMelrose Place\u201d and \u201cMurder, She Wrote,\u201d has died. He was 93. <\/p>\n
Levine died Sunday, surrounded by family and \u201cprobably wishing someone would bring him a martini,\u201d his daughter-in-law Tracy Robbins announced Tuesday on Instagram<\/a>. Robbins, who is married to Levine\u2019s son, former Paramount executive<\/a> Brian Robbins, said Levine was \u201cthe best father-in-law, grandpa, and all around jokester.\u201d<\/p>\n Levine began his screen career in the early 1970s and appeared in almost 100 productions. His notable credits also include films \u201cDog Day Afternoon,\u201d \u201cBloodbrothers,\u201d \u201cSuper Fly\u201d and TV series \u201cKojak,\u201d \u201cStarsky & Hutch,\u201d \u201cBaywatch\u201d and \u201cDays of Our Lives.\u201d He often played minor characters, including police officers, detectives, tailors, doctors and a crime boss.<\/p>\n A former taxi cab driver from New York City, Levine also collaborated with his son on Eddie Murphy starrers \u201cNorbit,\u201d \u201cMeet Dave\u201d and \u201cA Thousand Words.\u201d Robbins was inspired<\/a> by his father to pursue an entertainment career and was also an actor, director and longtime producer before he became an industry executive. The father-son duo also both appeared in \u201cArchie Bunker\u2019s Place\u201d and \u201cHead of the Class.\u201d They also worked together on \u201cGood Burger,\u201d \u201cKenan & Kel\u201d and \u201cCoach Carter.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBrian is basically his twin, and we will see Floyd\u2019s grin every time we look at him,\u201d Tracy Robbins added in her Instagram post. <\/p>\n \u201cYou all have made my life sugar, and I love you all so much,\u201d he tells loved ones in a video shared by Robbins. \u201cIf I could do it, I\u2019d hug you and kiss you all. God bless you all and keep punching.\u201d<\/p>\n Levine was laid to rest on Wednesday. In addition to Brian and Tracy Robbins, survivors also include daughter Sheryl, son Marc and several grandchildren, according to the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. His wife, Rochelle, died in May 2022<\/a> at age 85. <\/p>\n \u201cI would like to think there\u2019s a casting call in heaven, and you showed up early, script in hand,\u201d Tracy Robbins added in her post. \u201cI will miss him dearly, but i know he\u2019s making the angels laugh already and back together with his beautiful wife Rochelle.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
