This is a big week for the wife of Georgia football <\/a>coach Kirby Smart.<\/p>\n

Because the Bulldogs<\/a> open the season on Saturday, Aug. 30 against Marshall?<\/p>\n

Not quite. Instead, the real big news for Mary Beth Smart<\/a> came on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when she texted her husband that music superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce announced their engagement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have known other than the fact that my phone got texted by my wife within three seconds of the engagement happening,\u201d Smart said. \u201cShe went crazy and told me I need to play Taylor Swift at practice all day in honor of her getting engaged. She told me it would happen a while back. I told her no way. And then it happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

The revelation came via a social media question from \u201cAmanda in Winder,\u201d near the end of \u201cBulldogs Live\u201d on Thursday night when Smart was asked his thoughts of the Swift-Kelce engagement.<\/p>\n

Mary Beth Smart and their twins Weston and Julia traveled to Amsterdam in July of 2024 to see Swift\u2019s \u2018Eras\u2019 tour.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe made sure I knew that she had the dress that Taylor Swift had on when she got engaged,\u201d Smart said. \u201cMy wife wore it before Taylor did. She was mighty proud of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
