KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2014 One of Kansas City\u2019s own is leaving the popular sketch comedy show \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d, according to reports<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Heidi Gardner, a Kansas City, Missouri native, is leaving \u201cSNL\u201d after eight seasons on the show. The major cast shakeup included the departure of other stars like Devon Walker and Emil Wakim as well.<\/p>\n

\u2018SNL\u2019 actors confirmed in and out for Season 51 <\/a><\/p>\n

Additionally, Gardner\u2019s departure comes as she was one of the most popular actors on the show. She was the longest-tenured ongoing active cast member of the show, according to Variety, and appeared in more scenes than any other \u201cSNL\u201d cast member during the 49th season of the show as well.<\/p>\n

Gardner was a frequent character on the \u201cWeekend Update\u201d sketch on \u201cSNL\u201d, and impersonated other celebrities like Jill Biden, Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and more.<\/p>\n

Other characters of Gardner\u2019s included teen film critic Bailey Gismert and a boxer\u2019s love interest, Angel.<\/p>\n

Gardner is no stranger to the big screen and television series either. She\u2019s acted in movies like \u201cHustle\u201d and \u201cPuss in Boots: The Last Wish\u201d and TV series like \u201cAmerican Dad\u201d and \u201cYou.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, however, \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d will return on Oct. 4 for its 51st season without Gardner.<\/p>\n
