Stream the album below, along with the video for her new single, \u201cTears,\u201d starring Coleman Domingo.<\/p>\n Following the blockbuster success of Short n\u2019 Sweet\u00a0 in 2024, the new LP looks to solidify Carpenter\u2019s position as one of the leading women of pop. The 12-track follow-up was written by Carpenter with frequent collaborators Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff, and John Ryan.<\/p>\n Get Sabrina Carpenter Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt is not for the pearl clutchers, the album is not for any pearl clutchers,\u201d Carpenter told CBS Mornings of her latest release and its content matter. \u201cI think that\u2019s the thing, is sometimes people hear the lyrics that are really bold or they go, \u2018I don\u2019t want to sing this in front of other people.\u2019 It\u2019s like it\u2019s almost too it, it, it\u2019s TMI. But I think about being at a concert with, you know, however many young women I see in the front row that are screaming at the top of their lungs with their best friends. And you can go like, \u2018Oh, we can all, like, sigh of relief like, \u2018This is just fun.\u2019 And, and that\u2019s all it has to be.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s been a whirlwind of a year for the singer, who has spent much of that time on tour in support of her breakthrough sixth album, Short n\u2019 Sweet (2024). Packed with hit singles including \u201cEspresso\u201d (which was Trent Reznor\u2019s favorite song<\/a> last year), \u201cPlease Please Please,\u201d and \u201cBed Chem,\u201d the album spent the second-most time at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2024, only behind Taylor Swift<\/a>\u2018s The Tortured Poets Department.<\/p>\n The Short n\u2019 Sweet album returned earlier this year in the form of a deluxe edition<\/a>, loaded with five additional songs, including a remix of \u201cPlease Please Please\u201d featuring music icon Dolly Parton<\/a>. Before she signed off on the remix, however, Parton delivered a set of rules to Carpenter about the collaboration: \u201cI don\u2019t cuss, I don\u2019t make fun of Jesus. I don\u2019t talk bad about God, and I don\u2019t say dirty words on camera.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cShort n\u2019 Sweet\u201d tour<\/a> was such a success that Carpenter added another run of shows<\/a>, which kicks off in late October after she headlines both weekends of this year\u2019s Austin City Limits festival. She\u2019s even considered banning phones<\/a> at her shows, although she admits such a move \u201cwill honestly piss off my fans.\u201d See her tour dates below, and get tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Just last month at a show in London, the singer welcomed pop icons Simon Le Bon and John Taylor of Duran Duran<\/a> to the stage for a rendition<\/a> of the band\u2019s \u201980s hit, \u201cHungry Like the Wolf.\u201d<\/p>\n Man\u2019s Best Friend generated a sea of controversy long before it was released, back when Carpenter first revealed<\/a> the highly suggestive cover art. While the risque imagery was defended<\/a> by none less than singer Carly Simon<\/a> (\u201cShe\u2019s not doing anything outrageous\u201d), the pop star struck back with an alternate album cover<\/a>, which she deemed \u201cApproved by God.\u201d<\/p>\n The album\u2019s lead single (and music video<\/a>), \u201cManchild<\/a>,\u201d was strong enough to be deemed our \u201cSong of the Week<\/a>\u201d when it arrived.<\/p>\n
