Now, with the stars busy in the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/television\/2025-tv-premiere-date-schedule-upcoming-new-returning-shows\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:2025 TV schedule;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">2025 TV schedule<\/a> and the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/supernaturals-series-finale-anniversary-flashed-022427310.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:20th anniversary of the series premiere;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">20th anniversary of the series premiere<\/a> approaching, showrunner Andrew Dabb reflected on the storyline that he thinks really might have ruined the series if the writers had gone in that direction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">While fans can always debate whether or not <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/television\/2559059\/supernatural-series-finale-did-sam-and-dean-winchester-get-happy-endings-after-15-seasons\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Sam and Dean got happy endings;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Sam and Dean got happy endings<\/a> with their reunion in the afterlife at the end of the series finale, I&#8217;m guessing many will agree with the showrunner that the scrapped storyline probably wasn&#8217;t needed at any point in the fifteen seasons. (All fifteen are available streaming with a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/tech.yahoo.com\/streaming\/articles\/netflix-subscription-plans-price-included-174717448.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Netflix subscription;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">Netflix subscription<\/a> now.) Speaking with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/1209949\/supernatural-scrapped-storyline-sam-dean-telling-world-monsters\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:TV Insider;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">TV Insider<\/a>, Andrew Dabb said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">One story line we always talked about, which we never did was basically Sam and Dean go public. They\u2019re like, \u2018Look, we\u2019re putting out a PSA. Monsters are real. If you see something, something shows up in your town, it\u2019s a monster. We can\u2019t be everywhere. We\u2019re just going to get the word out there.&#8217;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Winchester brothers may have had a pretty sizable network of allies by the end, but they definitely never went public with a PSA. I could have imagined it happening in a dream sequence, meta episode, time travel storyline, or even parallel world that no show could pull off quite like <em>Supernatural<\/em> did, but not in the main canon of the show. And that&#8217;s saying something, since the main canon of the show once de-aged Dean for an episode and made him a Taylor Swift fan! Dabb went on:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It would\u2019ve kind of blown up the show in a very odd way. But that was always something I was like, \u2018They probably should do that, you know what I mean? Just share some information, share it around.\u2019 But again, a little logistically difficult for the show.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Sam and Dean passed plenty of what then seemed like points of no return over the years, but it might have taken an intervention from Chuck\/God at his most powerful to make that storyline logistically feasible. The showrunner clarified that the storyline would have been in a finale, and I&#8217;d say that would be an even bigger finale cliffhanger than <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/television\/1660970\/castiels-best-death-on-supernatural-according-to-misha-collins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:that time Castiel died (again);elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">that time Castiel died (again)<\/a>. Andrew Dabb explained why this really would have been going too far:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Suddenly, Sam and Dean are known worldwide, which, again, I think sounds interesting in theory, but I actually think would\u2019ve destroyed the show.
