Influencer Emilie Kiser is taking \u201cfull accountability\u201d for her son Trigg\u2019s drowning<\/a> in her first statement since the 3-year-old died on May 18. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trigg was found unresponsive in his family\u2019s backyard pool<\/a>, according to a statement shared by the Chandler Police Department in Arizona, which oversaw the investigation of the toddler\u2019s drowning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cLoss of this magnitude feels impossible to put into words,\u201d Emilie Kiser said in a statement shared on her social media<\/a> on Thursday. \u201cI\u2019ve spent days, weeks, months trying to find them and also take the time I\u2019ve needed to digest the loss of my baby.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trigg was in the care of his father, Brady Kiser, at the time, while his mother was away from the house. The police department said that Trigg \u201cwas in the backyard unsupervised for more than nine minutes, and in the water for about seven of those minutes,\u201d according to a report seen by People magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The 3-year-old was recovered from the pool and hospitalized in critical condition, and died six days later. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Emilie Kiser said in her statement that she takes \u201cfull accountability as Trigg\u2019s mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cOne of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it\u2019s something I will never overlook again,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI hope amidst this pain, Trigg\u2019s story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Emilie Kiser also seemingly addressed the staggering amount of online attention and speculation<\/a> her son\u2019s death incurred. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cMoving forward, I will be establishing more boundaries with what I share online,\u201d she said as she wrapped up her statement. \u201cIn the future, I hope to be in a place to share more about how I am navigating this grief, but right now, all I can say is thank you for the love, compassion, patience and space you\u2019ve given us to grieve.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Chandler Police Department declined to share additional comment on Kiser\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Prior to Trigg\u2019s death, Emilie and Brady Kiser welcomed a second child, a baby named Theodore<\/a>, in March. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
