AUSTIN (KXAN) \u2014 One of Austin City Limits Music Festival\u2019s top headliners has dropped out, just weeks ahead of the fest. Luckily, organizers have already filled the hole in the schedule.<\/p>\n
Doja Cat posted on social media Friday morning<\/a>, announcing that she had to pull out of performing at ACL. She shared the following message on her Instagram story:<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, I will not be performing at Austin City Limits this year. When I made the commitment I didn\u2019t know exactly when Vie would be released. I\u2019ve been working on finalizing the album, making videos, taking the time to put together an album campaign that I am really excited about, and it\u2019s become clear to me that I cannot give you guys the show you deserve within this time frame. Thank you to the ACL team for their support and I hope to see you all again soon when the time is right. I\u2019m forever grateful for the opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n \u201cVie\u201d is Doja Cat\u2019s fifth album, which is set to be released Sept. 26, according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n Austin City Limits will take place Oct. 3-5 and 10-12.<\/p>\n ACL posted on X<\/a> shortly after Doja Cat\u2019s announcement on Instagram, saying, \u201cUnfortunately, Doja Cat will no longer be able to perform at ACL Festival this year. Stay tuned for your updated headliner.\u201d<\/p>\n Less than five minutes later, ACL posted again<\/a>, announcing The Killers<\/a> as the new Sunday night headliners.<\/p>\n The Killers were supposed to perform at a different festival at the end of September, but that festival was canceled.<\/p>\n According to Billboard<\/a>, the rock band was set to be one of the headliners for the 2025 Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Conn., but the fest was canceled.<\/p>\n The Killers will perform<\/a> on the American Express stage at 8:30 p.m. both Sundays of ACL.<\/p>\n\n
