Bad Bunny is sharing a song that hit an emotional chord for his mother.<\/p>\n
During an interview with “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Llamas, the superstar, whose given name is Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, shared how his mom teared up while listening to \u201cLa Mudanza.\u201d<\/p>\n
When asked why the song made his mom, Lysaurie Ocasio, cry, the artist explained the personal connection.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I\u2019m just telling the story about how my parents meet each other, and how I came to this world,\u201d Bad Bunny shared. \u201cSo it\u2019s a very special story and it\u2019s a very emotional song.\u201d<\/p>\n\n“La Mudanza” is featured on Bad Bunny’s sixth studio album, \u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos,\u201d which translates to \u201cI should\u2019ve taken more photos,\u201d and was released in January. <\/p>\n
The deeply personal, genre-blending LP is a love letter to Puerto Rico and family, and quickly became a chart-topper. <\/p>\n
\u201cI always wanted to make a salsa album,\u201d he said, adding that he always thought it would be a project he did when he was older \u201cwhen I turn 40 or something like that.\u201d \u201cAnd when I started to work on this album it was organically, everything. Like, \u201cDTMF\u201d song, the way that we created that song, it was- all just happening at the moment, feelings, people that (were) in the studio. You know, \u2018Come here, let\u2019s sing together.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Adding to his spotlight on his beloved culture and heritage, Bad Bunny kicked off a 30-show residency in his native Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s the best experience that I ever had in my life, in my career,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s more than a show. It\u2019s more than a concert. It\u2019s the culture right there, people all love each other, singing together. It\u2019s something magical.\u201d<\/p>\n
