Gaines<\/strong>, and the film carries the same name as the series of stories in the comic book, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.firstforwomen.com\/entertainment\/movies-shows\/weird-science-10-bizarre-behind-the-scenes-facts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:First For Women;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">First For Women<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hughes penned the script in just two days while also working on The Breakfast Club. In fact, both films are set at Shermer High, and <strong>John Kapelos<\/strong> plays Carl the janitor in both of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The prolific writer talked about his idea for Weird Science with Hall while they were shooting The Breakfast Club. \u201cHe wrote 30 pages that night,\u201d Hall recalls in an interview with <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/movies\/2018\/04\/03\/weird-science-anthony-michael-hall\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Entertainment Weekly;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cHe was truly prolific. I mean, to go home and write the first act of another screenplay [when] you\u2019re shooting The Breakfast Club? The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model never really pursued an acting career, and her passion for gardening led her to become Kelly Emberg the Model Gardener, offering advice on growing organic veggies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">After the shake-up, \u201cThey called me and said, \u2018We will give you whatever you want,\u2019 so the next day I was on a plane to Chicago,\u201d says LeBrock. \u201cMy first scene was the shower scene, and I was forced to wear the previous actress\u2019 wardrobe. She was a completely different body type than I was, so a lot of the outfits had to be modified for them to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Meanwhile, Hall opted to play Gary over reprising his 1983 National Lampoon\u2019s Vacation role as Rusty Griswold in the 1985 comedy National Lampoon\u2019s European Vacation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hughes encouraged the actors to ad-lib lines, and the late Paxton took full advantage!
