They\u2019re\u00a0fuckin\u2019 <\/em>loud, they\u2019re fuckin\u2019\u00a0<\/em>cewwwl, they\u2019re fuckin\u2019\u00a0<\/em>in the bushes, and\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0fuckin\u2019 back<\/em>. Fuckin\u2019 biblical, mate.<\/p>\n But let\u2019s take a quick step back. At this point in the rollout of Oasis\u2019 \u201cLive \u201925\u201d<\/a> comeback world tour, everything is pretty laid out. The setlist hasn\u2019t changed since the first show in Cardiff, and, all things considered, the Gallagher brothers behind-the-scenes drama has remained almost non-existent. If anything is surprising, it\u2019s how remarkably smooth the Oasis machine is running, especially for being out of use for a decade-and-a-half.<\/p>\n Get Oasis Reunion Tour Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n On paper, such a description sounds like a recipe for a pretty mundane concert experience. Everyone knows what to expect (it was quite clear a significant portion of the sold-out audience knew the setlist), and the likelihood of seeing such a theatrically charged moment like the viral 2009 performance<\/a> is next to zero. So, are the Oasis haters who malign Liam for \u201cjust standing there with his hands behind his back\u201d right after all? Is the Oasis hype \u2014 ahem \u2014 bloody bullocks?<\/p>\n No. God, no.<\/p>\n As proven by the absolute sea of bucket hats and soccer jerseys bouncing arm in arm to tunes like \u201cCigarettes & Alcohol,\u201d the \u201cLive \u201925\u201d shows have enough electricity to power a small English village. It\u2019s everything an Oasis fan could want. (You know, save for the difficulty of securing tickets.)<\/p>\n After setting the mood with Neil Young\u2019s \u201cRockin\u2019 in the Free World\u201d and a hype video set to \u201cFuckin\u2019 in the Bushes,\u201d the two brothers walked out hand-in-hand to a roaring, salivating audience. From there, they immediately settled into their roles. Noel looked focused, a little strained, and didn\u2019t say much outside of his song introductions, and Liam proved that he hasn\u2019t lost an ounce of his rockstar appeal.<\/p>\n Seriously, it\u2019s stupid how much snarky charisma Liam continues to boast in the year of our lord 2025. He\u2019s certainly matured, learning to channel and control his angst in a way that won\u2019t blow up the band for a second time, but he\u2019s managed to retain a level of over-the-top, quick-witted ego that\u2019s hard not to love. He chews up every second the camera is on him, from his iconic stance to blessing himself with his water bottle to having a little too much fun with his maracas and tambourine.<\/p>\n Sonically, the gang sounded as good as they looked. Both Liam and Noel\u2019s voices were on point, soaring to particularly spectacular heights when harmonizing, and the band had their many, many amps cranked the hell up. Oasis entered Soldier Field to a warm audience; people were pumped. So, making it through the first few cuts without issue was almost inevitable. The real trick was sustaining that energy for two hours, and thanks to the strength of the songs and performances, the electricity rarely flickered.<\/p>\n In that way, Oasis\u2019 \u201cLive \u201925\u201d is kind of like the \u201cEras Tour\u201d for blokes who enjoy themselves a pint and maybe a little horsing around. The excitement of the show almost precedes the night itself \u2014 everyone feeds off of it, and as long as the artist at the center of attention can keep up their end of the bargain, it\u2019s bound to be a special time for everyone involved.<\/p>\n Of course, the main difference between Taylor Swift\u2019s record-breaking tour and Oasis\u2019 record-breaking tour is that Oasis really only engage with one era of their career \u2014 their golden age. Maybe two eras if you want to break it down cleanly by album. Let\u2019s call it an era and a half.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a smart decision to have a majority of the setlist derive from\u00a0Definitely\u00a0Maybe\u00a0<\/em>and (What\u2019s the Story) Morning Glory?<\/em>, one that helps them pull off the trick of keeping the stadium amped up throughout the gig. Besides a pair of Be Here Now\u00a0<\/em>tracks, played back-to-back, and \u201cLittle by Little,\u201d every song on the setlist dates back to 1995 or earlier. In short, Oasis are giving the people what they want.<\/p>\n That\u2019s really the theme of \u201cLive \u201925\u201d and the whole of Oasis\u2019 return: giving the people what they want. For those who have waited so long for the self-proclaimed best band in the world to return, as well as those who only recently got swept up in the hoopla, Oasis\u2019 current iteration more than delivers.<\/p>\n And now, for a quick rundown of the best quips and Gallagher-esque moments from the night:<\/p>\n Liam calling Soldier Field a \u201ctops stadium\u201d that is \u201cfuckin\u2019 huge, man.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Liam rallying the crowd to \u201cdo the Poznan\u201d before \u201cCigarettes & Alcohol\u201d by telling a story of someone saying Chicagoans wouldn\u2019t do it because they are \u201ctoo cool.\u201d It worked, prompting him to finish the song with, \u201cWe showed her.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Noel razzing a fan in the front row for yawning, giving them the \u201cI saw that\u201d-style stare down.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Liam biting and wearing his tambourine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Liam dapping up Noel when leaving the stage for the latter\u2019s songs and subsequently mugging the camera for a solid 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Liam referring to their big hit as \u201cthe mighty Wonderwall\u201d with an underlying sardonic bite.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n Liam assuring the crowd that while we think Oasis doesn\u2019t care about America, they actually love us :).
