Neil Young<\/strong> has once again slammed the Donald Trump<\/strong> administration, sharing a new song called Big Crime<\/em> yesterday (29 August) that alludes to the U.S. President in its fiery lyrics.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n The defiant track was recorded by Young and his band, the Chrome Hearts<\/strong>, during soundcheck for their concert in Chicago earlier this week (27 August). It was then promptly posted to YouTube.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n While Trump\u2019s name never appears in the lyrics, Young takes aim at the President\u2019s previous legal challenges, as well as sarcastic references to his recent policy moves, which include deploying the National Guard in Washington, D.C., and taking over the city\u2019s police operations.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Trump cited \u201cthe precipitous rise in violent crime\u201d as reasoning for the deployment of the National Guard and takeover of police operations. However, earlier this year, the Washington Police Department<\/strong> and U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves <\/strong>stated that the city was actually facing a 30-year low in crime.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n The new single also fires at Trump\u2019s campaign slogan, Make America Great Again (MAGA), by singing \u201cNo more great again.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \u201cThere\u2019s big crime in DC at the White House,\u201d Young sings in the chorus. He sang, \u201cAmerica has a leader building walls around our house \/ Who don\u2019t know Black lives matter and we got to vote him out.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/div>\n The original song was about then-President George W. Bush<\/strong> and pointed to Barack Obama<\/strong> as a potential replacement. Young also fired at Bush with the track Let\u2019s Impeach The President.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/div>\n Young also sued Donald Trump for using his 1989 song, Rockin\u2019 In The Free World<\/em>, at presidential campaign rallies without permission<\/a> in 2016 and 2020. He ultimately decided to voluntarily drop the lawsuit.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n
