It\u2019s fine if you don\u2019t, it was only a lone Season 1 episode, long before he was gaining attention from shows like <em>Z Nation<\/em> and <em>The Man in the High Castle<\/em>. However, getting the opportunity to star in that one episode of one of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/television\/100-best-tv-sitcoms-of-all-time-ranked\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:best sitcoms of all time;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">best sitcoms of all time<\/a> has majorly paid off for Qualls because of a specific benefit that comes with a network TV show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">During his conversation with Joe Vulpis, host of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@ughitsjoe\/video\/7542626271574904094\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Lightweights Podcast;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em>Lightweights Podcast<\/em><\/a>, Qualls was asked if he gets residuals from <em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em>, which aired on CBS from 2007 to 2019. The actor shared that the payment he still gets from his time on \u201cThe Loobenfeld Decay\u201d is pretty sizable, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">So that is a dope residual. It was network\u2026 but also, it was a time when shows hit 22 episodes. CBS is one of the only networks that still does 22-episode series. Everybody does 12 or 8.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Originally airing on March 24, 2008, \u201cThe Loobenfeld Decay\u201d saw Sheldon crafting an increasingly intricate cover story to cover for Leonard after he lied to get out of the two of them seeing Penny perform in <em>Rent<\/em>. This included recruiting DJ Qualls\u2019 Toby Loobenfeld, a research assistant who double majored in Physics and Theatre, to play Sheldon\u2019s drug-addicted Leo to help sell the story. Nearly 20 years after this Big Bang Theory episode aired, Qualls still gets decent residuals from it. That\u2019s in part because of <em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em>\u2019s larger episode count per season, which allows for the residuals to be bigger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Perhaps more importantly, however, is the fact that <em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em> is still being syndicated, which is now a rarity in the TV world. When Joe Vulpis brought up how HBO\u2019s <em>The White Lotus<\/em> only has eight episodes each season, Qualls responded:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"mb-4 border-l-2 pl-5 italic text-tertiary\">\n<div class=\"\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It\u2019s a single platform show. So it\u2019s not going anywhere. You\u2019re not earning any residuals off that off platform. The reason why you made decent residuals on other things is because when they syndicate, they go other places. It goes away from CBS. It goes to a Fox affiliate, wherever it goes. But these shows don\u2019t do that. Combine that with how The White Lotus isn\u2019t being shown on any other conventional TV channels, and the residuals are nonexistent. <em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em>, on the other hand, was one of CBS\u2019s most successful programs and can still be found if you\u2019re channel-flipping, so it\u2019s no wonder DJ Qualls is pleased about the residuals he\u2019s still getting from his episode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><em>The Big Bang Theory<\/em> franchise continues to chug along on two fronts. <em>Georgie &amp; Mandy\u2019s First Marriage<\/em>, which spun out of <em>Young Sheldon<\/em>, returns for its second season on CBS in the fall, and can also be streamed with a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/paramount-plus-price-plans-other-134445994.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Paramount+ subscription;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">Paramount+ subscription<\/a>.
