Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/strong><\/a> is asking her fans for their prayers after learning that her stepfather, Rob<\/strong>, was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbout 8 months ago, I asked everyone to pray for my stepdad, Rob. I didn\u2019t say why, but he was diagnosed with cancer and he was going into surgery to get it removed,\u201d Bristowe, 40, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, August 30. \u201cYour prayers worked, and they had gotten it all. He then went back for a follow-up scan, and it has moved into his stomach. He is now battling an incurable stage 4 cancer<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rob is married to Bristowe\u2019s mother, Leslie<\/strong>, and has been a constant presence in the former Bachelorette\u2019s life. He was even prominently featured on her hometown dates on both The Bachelor <\/i>and The Bachelorette.<\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all devastated. I do believe he will beat the timeline given because he\u2019s a stubborn, strong warrior with a passion for life,\u201d Bristowe added on Saturday. \u201cBut I really do believe in the power of prayer, the power of manifestation, and the power of love. So, please send it all his way. He means the world to me and our blended family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bristowe recently spent time with her parents at a lake house in Canada.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was really special to spend the last few days playing cards, eating home-cooked meals, and just telling each other how much we cherish our families\u2019 relationship,\u201d she concluded. \u201cTime is so precious. #F***Cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Several of Bristowe\u2019s Bachelor Nation peers sent prayers and well-wishes in the comments section of her post.<\/p>\n

Bristowe also shared her statement via her Instagram Stories, setting it to The Paper Kites\u2019 \u201cBloom\u201d with a message that read, \u201cPrayers please.\u201d<\/p>\n
