The veteran actor, who hit the milestone on Aug. 11, carried Leo season with poise and grace. At <\/span>The Television Academy Hall of Fame in Los Angeles, Davis spoke with People<\/a> about why this next chapter feels better than ever. And when asked about how she\u2019s feeling, she didn\u2019t hold back.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cFabulous. I\u2019m alive. I\u2019m breathing. I\u2019m about to have a cocktail and some food,\u201d Davis said. \u201cI feel happier than I\u2019ve ever been.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The reason? She\u2019s put in the time to become a better version of herself.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been curious enough about myself to do the work, and now that I\u2019m at 60, I can really honestly say that I found home,\u201d she said. \u201cI found my ruby slippers, and that, for me, has been extremely freeing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Davis added that embracing the process has helped her resist the pressure to feel \u201cold.\u201d In fact, she says she feels \u201cyounger\u201d than ever before. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

The EGOT winner has long been<\/a> a vocal advocate for self-awareness<\/span> and authenticity. Back in 2016, while receiving the #SeeHer award at the Critics\u2019 Choice Awards, Davis spoke about the transformative power of embracing her self-identity. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This recognition, she explained, came after years of learning to accept herself. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
