{"id":1989635,"date":"2025-08-31T13:22:49","date_gmt":"2025-08-31T13:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1989635"},"modified":"2025-08-31T13:22:49","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T13:22:49","slug":"berkshire-county-music-industry-comes-together-at-mixer-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/berkshire-county-music-industry-comes-together-at-mixer-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Berkshire County music industry comes together at mixer event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Housatonic \u2014<\/strong> Local musicians, venue owners and managers, and music industry professionals all came together on Tuesday, August 26, at the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/musehousatonic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Multi-Use Studio Experiment (MUSE)<\/a> building for the first-ever Music Mixer event.<\/p>\n<p>The event was co-organized by Berkshire County-based musician <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonwhalan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jackson Whalan<\/a> and Great Barrington culinary company <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.afterhoursgb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">After Hours<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whalen, who <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/theberkshireedge.com\/business-perspectives-jackson-whalan-making-a-great-sound-in-his-hometown-of-housatonic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has studio space in the MUSE building<\/a>, told The Berkshire Edge that the event is a way to bring Berkshire County\u2019s music community together. \u201cEverybody in the music community works super hard, and we don\u2019t always get a chance to get together,\u201d Whalen said. \u201cI wanted to create a moment of togetherness in the community with this event. You have some very hard-working and talented people in this community, and Berkshire County is very eclectic when it comes to music. You have singer-songwriters, rappers, bands with original music, and cover bands. Photo by Shaw Israel Izikson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During the event, Ariel Hyatt, founder of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cyberprmusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cyber PR<\/a> and author of the books \u201cFrom Buzz to Bond\u201d and \u201cThe Ultimate Guide to Music Publicity,\u201d led a discussion about music marketing. \u201cIt is extremely hard for artists to market their music in today\u2019s world of technology,\u201d she said. \u201cThere are over 120,000 new tracks a day that come out on Spotify, and that is a really big number. A music mixer event is a great opportunity to meet other people in this industry because we all want to know what is going on with everyone. We are friends with the owners at other music venues in Berkshire County, and there really isn\u2019t any competition between us.
